State Design and Research and Research Institute on the design and organization of energy construction "Orgenergostroy" created on the basis of Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 1688 of September 15, 1955.

The formative prerequisite for such a step was the need for annual input. electricity generating capacities capable of satisfying consumption growth electricity in the amount of not less than 10-11 million kW. To solve this and other tasks, Institute, in the face of acute post-war shortage of material and human resources, it was necessary to develop and introduce completely new integrated organization methods construction of energy facilities in the country.

Since its foundation, the Institute has focused not only on the development of the most progressive production methods for the construction and installation of thermal, hydraulic and nuclear power plants, power lines and substations, but also to improve the organization management and economics of construction and design of industrial base power engineering complex.

Orgenergostroy was directly involved in the preparation of the energy program of the former USSR, consisting in planning the development and deployment of productive forces in electric power industry, drafting a master plan for building complex management, analytical materials, building codes, rules and other regulatory documents.

In addition, during the construction of specific energy facilities, the Institute prepared organization projects construction and work, as well as technological maps, which served as a tool for implementation into the practice of energy construction of the advanced achievements of domestic and foreign engineering.

A new direction for the Institute is improving the organization and construction technology nuclear power plants, which began in 1957. The company participated in work on the construction of the Beloyarsk and Novovoronezh NPPs, where the production technology and sophisticated engineering solutions.
